Jive Knight
Vixen’s Vaudeville Variety Ensemble invite you to Hernando’s Hideaway, a speakeasy in Chicago under Prohibition. The great days when bars actually put on entertainment that wasn’t a loud jukebox or wide-screen TV. There is a show within a show, offering a peek into the friendships and rivalries between everyone there, and the lively entertainment provided in this illegal den of vice. There are dancers – both dancing girls and the clientele – and the singer, backed by the house band, and circus/variety acts. A good old-fashioned variety show for an excellent evening out that’s ‘a bit different’. It’s at the Library Theatre (entrance at the back of the Central Library on Surrey Street, S1 1XZ), doors open 7pm & show starts at 8pm, tickets £15 each from ninajolley@aol.com.
