mrcharlie
I would love to work 6-til-2, 5 days per week. 2pm is early enough to get home and do things. Finishing at 4:30pm arriving home at 5pm is horrible - I hate it!! Don't know why manufacturing jobs don't adopt the the 6-2 pattern. As it is, this is how my week plays out... Monday - (tunnel vision for Friday) = zombie day Tuesday - still not with it, but by mid afternoon I'm in my stride! Wednesday - in full swing now..I'm pumped!! Thursday - one day to go, so start to wind down Friday - do as little as possible then go home!! But years back when I did the 6-2 shift it was fantastic. Buzzing because you knew you'd be home just after dinner!!
Cyclone
I don't see how getting up at 0430 to get to work for 0600 would enhance anyones day.

mrcharlie
Ewww. You must have been popular at work. Well obviously if I did anything to get dirty I'd have another shower before bed!! Obviously Otherwise just another wash in the morning - what's wrong with that?? Although not related to this thread - fact is whenever I use public toilets it's always and I mean always "suits" that walk out without washing their hands!! No doubt on their way to a business meeting complete with the obligatory handshake !!! EEWWW
