I'm sure the Home Office would like to know if it makes Asylum applications easier to process There should be naval vessels from all European countries patrolling off shores from where these scroungers set sail from, they should turn them back making them run on shore letting all these scroungers know that they're wasting time and money. Surely the cost of having specifically built naval vessels for patrolling shores (because we wouldn't want to take anything away from our defenses) would be just as expensive? (Production, Maintenance etc) And how would that distinguish between the "Scroungers" and the genuine asylum seekers. Shockingly, people do genuinely want to seek asylum to better themselves. Our current naval patrols are instructed (I imagine) to observe and protect our shorelines from spying countries, terrorists and pirates (though I don't think we get many of them in our waters, I don't know). They are not instructed to seek out and escort boats back to their country. Which is a point, what if our EU Asylum Seeking Patrol boats encounter a boat full of varying nationalities? Can't send them all back to 1 country....so do you propose they escort them back to their individual countries? What if people can't confirm their nationality? Why would a country accept someone back if they can't confirm that they are from said country? Please see my post on page 10. What's dress got to do with Asylum? Do you expect every Asylum seeker to be wearing war-torn clothes? What if someone is seeking asylum on the basis of an abusive family? Is it OK for them to have presentable clothing? Or should we allow people in based upon the way they look? I don't know where false asylum seekers come from. If that was the case we would mainly get asylum seekers from France (as described earlier). Considering we are part of the E.U surely it's reasonable to suggest that the UK accepts it's fair share of asylum seekers? This is the 21st century, why should we understand and accept middle ages mentality and doctrine where beheading, suicide bombing, flying airliners into buildings. blowing up ancient sites, stoning women for blasphemy at a water fountain are the order of the day?
