RickyM
If we let a few thousand in and they have skills that benefit the UK why is that a problem? There is an easy way round this. We are taking in a number of migrants from outside the EU anyway. Just reduce that number by the number of Syrians we take. We're no worse off. This is a problem because it encourages more to follow as it shows immigration laws aren't being followed. Another impact of this back door immigration is that it further undermines confidence in the immigration system as people can see the laws don't mean anything. There's nothing back door about it,Cameron has told you exactly what he plans to do.

Chalga - this was a response to someone who said that a Syrian had stated they were coming to the UK (London precisely) to look for a job. It was apparently in the Guardian. RickyM
They're not looking for hand outs then. Well, not that one specifically. But still looking to flout UK immigration law as he stated his intention was to come and seek work in London, he didn't have a visa so it's illegal. SnailyBoy
Been let out for the weekend, have you? Considering the average Syrian given refuge here is unlikely to want to go back. Why is it a bad thing if they become British citizens straight away?
