bazjea
Hello each, Has anybody any info' about the Venus Steak House which was in a cellar on Moorhead opposite the Peace Gardens. grand place for a good night out. The owners were supposed to be either Greek or Argentian? I thought the entrance was at corner of Cambridge Street and Pinstone Street and then down a flight of stairs. There was another Venus Steak House(may have been called The Coach House) in the Wicker, owned by the same people. Historyphil
Thanks Sounds like the place ordinary narrow door at street level then down a flight of stairs, first thing to be seen was very large open charcoal grill. They had and needed doggy bags big enough to satisfy a Gt Dane such was the quantity of snap. Then all of a sudden gone. Just to check did the owners move to the Whicker after closing the Venus or were they both going at the same time. Any idea where they went afterwards? Whats using the space nowadays if anything or is that the area due for the chop?
Barb M
The owners of the Venus & the Coach House in the Wicker are now running the Venus in Dinnington, they still do those wonderful steaks & are well worth a visit.
