Cyclone
Almost renewal time so i like to get loads of quotes to see where the land lies. Even with another years no claims and another years experience my insurance company has decided to double my premium for next year. Yes, DOUBLE IT!! Cheeky gets. After a quick online search i found lots of cheap deals way way cheaper than im paying now let alone next year so rang my insurer back to see if i could haggle, they dont haggle so next month they lose a customer for the sake of being greedy. Seriously thought. 100% increase is just beyond a joke! Rant over I got a multi car quote from Admiral, and my insurance for 2 cars has dropped to only £400 a year. It wasn't that long ago that I was paying £1000 a year just for my car. So I'm pretty happy. The renewal quote from Aviva was £600 though, so I'll be switching. ---------- Post added 14-08-2015 at 14:33 ---------- I had a multicar policy with Admiral until July. Their quote for the next 12 months was a little cheaper than last year but I thought I'd just check to see what others would quote. I didn't expect it but Aviva near enough halved what Admiral wanted for an equivalent policy so I went with them. I'm not naïve enough to think that it won't go up considerably next year so I'll be shopping around again. I wonder if I'll be switching back to Aviva again next then... Back and forth, I don't care as long as the premium stays low.
May Blob
We brought a so called 'Grey Import' from Cyprus, we according to the insurers were getting the best deal possible at £800. After 4yrs we were still being ripped off at £400 so we cancelled when we found another quote at £185.
Guest
Its about time that car insurance was individualised rather than risk being spread over all of us.
Cyclone
Its about time that car insurance was individualised rather than risk being spread over all of us. How do you imagine they can do that? Statistical analysis is the only way to estimate the risk, but by definition only works on large groups.
truman
Its about time that car insurance was individualised rather than risk being spread over all of us. That's the idea of insurance isn't it? Lots of people pay in but only some claim..How would your plan work?
bigsexydoug
That's the idea of insurance isn't it? Lots of people pay in but only some claim..How would your plan work? I changed my car insurance this year as normal after they ramped up the price by about 30%, so I told theme I wouldn't be renewing. Went online and got my insurance with the company I had just left lol as they were the cheapest. It's profiteering, and why I would never make a business man, I just couldn't be that annoying if I tried my hardest !
martin6
I note that my girlfriends insurance is significantly less than mine even though the EU ruled this was discrimination. I have driven longer and have 0 claims ever.

ALAN 58
Been with Hastings for the past three years, they have always been the cheapest on three internet sites i checked and only slightly dearer when compared to the quote when it came in. Previous to that they were never in the ball park and i had the same car, address etc.
