Different era, which cost you dearly long term. No doubt you had an excellent side competing against the Manchester United's, Liverpool 's, Arsenal's... Incidentally have continued to remain in the highest league, win trophies and remained their status. What do you think happened at Wednesday... How did it go wrong for you when other teams carried on prospering?

You punched above your weight for a couple of seasons trying to keep up with the big boys... And because of this... disaster for the past 20 years.

Still thing's happen for a reason... You got back up to the 2nd tier and won Bristol.

Anyway back on topic lol

If we beat Fulham and you beat Oxford lets hope for a draw against one another. Be good for the city.

As you said...different era...can't change whats gone ....for a period in the early 90's Wednesday had a great side but the money ran out and the 15 years of struggle began...which has been well documented on here..but things change and now under a totally different regime supporters are hopeful things may finally, be going back in the right direction....unlike yourselves facing yet another season in the third tier of english football...how did it go wrong for you, when Wednesday are prospering..?

Money is being spent on all aspects of the club...and whilst wins against Bristol City and Mansfield are all well and good,we know tougher test's will happen starting this weekend.

I like how you think you can beat Fulham...coming after a 4-0 hammering at Gillingham and a last minute winner at Morecombe....

We have the quality and strength in depth to be capable of a good cup run without it effecting out promotion push ,united in my opinion don't,so I understand the don't care less attitude from some blades.

When Clough was at our place he built two seperate starting XI's, effectively we had 2 players for every position on the pitch. This had it's benefits but also a good few negatives as the manager didn't know how to use them properly and swapped and changed too much in the league.

This season though due to having too much dead wood and a good few injuries, Adkins only had 19 players at his disposal to start the season with. It might seem a lot but in theory that is just a Starting XI and enough to fill the bench with one left over.

Another 3 or 4 injuries could impact on us big time. We have players coming back now thankfully and our numbers will rise again but we don't need the injuries.

Erm in the same way we beat them last time I would imagine? The last time we played them was on the back of a 3-0 licking away at Crewe just three days earlier. I remember it will because I went to both games and on the train on the way back I remember saying to my mate something like "Bloody hell we are going to get mauled at Fulham based on that performance".

But this is football and we all know that in the cups there are no gimme's. It is down to whoever turns up on the day and in the last two years our pretty much unchanged squad has proven itself to be somewhat cup specialists.

If we got to that stage of the F.A Cup then yes I would attend but then again like I said I respect that competition but in regards to the League Cup and JPT I can honestly say that no I wouldn't attend.

I am a man of my word and I want promotion this year, that has to be our main objective.

I don't see how you can call cup semi finals "fruitless" for a league one team. We achieved more than 90 odd percent of all the teams in the footballing pyramid.

We had a large squad and I believe that Clough felt that he had the right assets available to him to have a decent shot at all competitions. It didn't work like this, we picked up knocks and the congestion of fixtures appeared to tire us out a good bit. But we are a league one team at the end of the day.

There is nothing ridiculous about it! You can't throw games as that is just disrespectful to the fans and to the game as a whole. You have to go out there and play to win.

Now look what you've gone and done.........you've got the Owls 'Blades Cup Run Police' on your back.:D

They are fruitless because you finished the season empty handed and your efforts detracted from the far more important L1 campaign. L1 sides do not win cup competitions!!

Of course you go out to play to win but it doesn't always work (Gillingham), for a club of uniteds stature and financial clout you shouldn't be messing about for five years in the 3rd tier of the English game, unfortunately you have a chairman (the English half) who's ambitions seem strange.

Hands up,and don't move..........we want to know why you are enjoying beating PL teams, playing in semi finals on TV,playing at Wembley when you should all be down in the dumps like we think you should be because you didn't get promotion.....and we know what's best for you, because we are the Owls 'Blades Police'..{Cup Run Division}.............now up against that wall and get them hands where I can see 'em.:D

It's a good job that I and the majority of Blades don't share the same sort of negativity that you do then isn't it. The last two seasons the club have gradually made statements of intent to return back to the Championship, the have invested heavily into the squad and have recruited the best available men at the time to take them there.

Common sense says that if you are a nearly team that has good players and fails to achieve promotion, then big teams are going to sniff. People think that it is down to the club to hold on to players, this isn't the case any more. FFP rules mean that you have your hands tied behind your back and if teams in higher leagues come in for your players then they will leave no ifs and buts.

No disrespect but a good few of your opinions on football seem extremely dated and as much as you love to harp on about United's finances, Kevin McCabe and HRH The Prince, you never offer any form of fact to back up your statements.

Losing semi-finals on tv and distracting from your main aim of promotion, if thats ultimately what you want then so be it, I wouldn't.
