tzijlstra
This discussion is still going? I refer to my first and only contribution to it, it is all about information literacy, some people believe wiki, they are not supposed to, but wikipedia isn't half as unreliable as some people make it out to be, in fact if you exclude pages on celebrities it is statistically more accurate than, for example, an old paper Encyclopedia Brittanica. (Or at least it was at some point). But that is completely irrelevant if you take everything on wikipedia as gospel without understanding the context. Something that a lot of people do. So here is how to fix that problem: Become competent at these seven 'pillars' of information literacy: Identify, Scope, Plan, Gather, Evaluate, Manage and Present. Many people skip quite a few steps or only partially execute them, particularly scope and evaluate. Read up on it by googling seven pillars of information literacy. JFKvsNixon
Wikipedia is a wiki, meaning that anyone can edit any unprotected page and improve articles immediately for all readers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Editing Boom don't you look silly!?!? ---------- Post added 25-08-2015 at 00:47 ---------- Simple answer Full of misinformation. ---------- Post added 25-08-2015 at 00:48 ---------- Lets keep it simple do not do a Google or wiki and think it is true!!!!!!!!!!! If you didn't understand my suggestion about checking the references it's probably best that you do follow your own advice about keeping things simple.
