Does anyone know what's happened to this report?

Recommended Posts

It is. Let's see your working out.

Add in how many were seen by registrars if you can, as well as how many were personally examined and declared fit by IDS.

How is being seen personally by IDS related to the fact that people die after being declared fit to work by ATOS? You're just trying to cloud the issue.

Don't cloud the issue Cyclone. Let's see your working out. I'm very interested in getting a real understanding of what these numbers really mean.

(BTW, the answer is because stupid people are blaming IDS for "fit enough to work" decisions made by doctors)

What do the figures mean though?

..............

You have an orange in one hand, and a bar of Dairy Milk in the other. You won't get a Chocolate Orange no matter how much you bash them together.

Unless you do the working out anything you have to say isn't worth listening to.

What do the figures mean though?

The figures mean that between 2011 and 2014 at least 2,380 ill and disabled people would rather die than do a days work. There you are.

Sorry Eric, but you can't expect other people to do all the work for you. The report is published, so read it.

It's long and full of jargon, but basically what it says is that the changes made by IDS have lead directly to loss of life.

More specifically 2,380 people died within 14 days of being taken off Employment and support Allowance (ESA) because they were declared 'fit to work' by a controversial assessment process.

A further 270 died within 6 weeks of being taken off Incapacity Allowance or Severe Disablement Allowance, taking the total to 2,650 between December 2011 and February 2014.

A further 1,360 people declared fit for work had launched an appeal against the decision before they died.

I think that's exactly what 'Eric' expects ;)

UN investigating British Government over human rights abuses caused by IDS welfare reforms. (Not my words, the headline in the paper.)

It will interesting to see the UN report on this matter. Remember these fingers were people and no doubt their families would like some answers.
