Being sworn at for no reason..

Lets have a look then, link please.
These people just like to moan Cyclone because it makes them feel superior to the "scrubbers" and "scallies" they look down on.

We all have a fantastic quality of life, protected by various public services. We know our children will be fed, watered, clothed, educated, and will also have a good quality of life themselves.

For some people, whatever they have in life they'll never be happy. If you got rid of all the beggars and criminals in town, then they'd find someone else to look down on to make themselves feel superior.

you talk about 'public services'....you means like the public services EVERYONE has access to?

Nobody need be homeless in this day and age. Many of these people are playing at it....because that's where all there mates are, drinking, smoking and taking drugs.

maybe if they wanted to get off crack etc. and stopped sponging off people, we would have more compassion.

I was walking down Chapel Walk the other week, and two boys were walking with a girl who was on her mobile. The boys were making what I can only describe as pornographic noises so the person at the other end of the phone could hear it. I found it quite disturbing, they can't have been much older than 11 or 12.

scummy youth....it's all in the city centre.

You're actually putting lots of different demographs of people into one bracket here. Drug users, the homeless, alcoholics, even smokers... Lots of people actually smoke without needing to resort to criminal behaviour, it's quite a popular hobby you know.

I never get involved in the bickering on this forum and always try to comprehend an empathetic, balanced, reasonable view of things, as we all experience things in a different way. But honestly TJC1, it would really help you to relax and realise that not everyone is out to get you. Our society is actually quite a nice place if you take the time to acknowledge the beauty and positivity surrounding you.

Anyway enough of that hippy nonsense... Back to the bickering!

It's not 'hippy nonsense' (as I'm sure you're aware ;)), and I agree with you.

TJC1 just comments on what he sees, without a moments deeper thought as to the causes, mental misery and the feelings of utter worthlessness of the people he glibly talks about.

No empathy whatsoever. He certainly has no idea of addiction and how it works, and to be honest, makes himself appear rather stupid to those who do understand.

I guess he'll try to counter my assertion now, by cutting and pasting an article on Borderline personality disorder or the like, as if he's written it. ;)

You have no idea why people might be homeless do you? Nor why they might self medicate with drugs and alcohol.

Perhaps you could google that.

google it yourself...

You asserted it. You prove it. You know that's how it works in grown up conversations.

Don't often feel compelled to post on here but just wanted to say to the youth who came up to my face on Surrey Street this lunchtime and told me completely out of the blue to "f off" and to his two inane grinning companions that I hope their parents are really proud of what they have raised. I heard him mutter something about me looking casual and not wearing a tie. Maybe if he got a job and had the chance to make a choice of whether to wear a tie or nit he'd be better off. Never mind. Rant over but shouldn't expect to come across people like that.

I got the middle finger today from a group of kids id let cross the road.

Cheeky scally wags :hihi:

I don't have paranoia. My comments are based on experiences and then looking at statistics...how should I react?

Why do you assume i have no idea of addiction?

and why do you think these people are nothing more than a nuisance?

I got a very flamboyant bow from one young man who I allowed to cross in front of me a few days ago.

It made me smile.:)
