crookedspire
Seen a few bottles of English whisky for sale not cheap but looked ok. Is their any difference in taste or is it the same as Scottish whisky?
FIRETHORN1
I've tried English whisky. I bought some online a couple of years ago because I was just curious to try it and intrigued by the concept "English" whisky. It was quite expensive, but it was nowt special - to me it tasted like any bog-standard blended whisky that you can buy in any supermarket or off-licence - perfectly pleasant, but indistinguishable from the more common whiskies that you can buy at half the price anywhere. I've also tried Welsh whisky, Japanese whisky... and even Swedish whisky - none of which I found to be particularly outstanding. I'll try any kind of whisky....I love the stuff! I like most of the Irish whiskies I've tried, but I don't think that there's anything that can really touch the Scottish single malts. My favourites are the Talisker and the Longmorn. crookedspire
I think I will save my money, you can't beat a good single malt whisky.
FIRETHORN1
Totally agree with you crookedspire. There are so many Scotch single malts to try. I've tried dozens...maybe hundreds of em and I can honestly say that I've never once come across a single malt Scotch that I didn't like. I tend to prefer the darker, heavier, smokier varieties to the lighter, fruitier varieties, but they are all pretty nice!
