Crazy Daizy Re-union Night 1st Nov 2015

Apparently this is at The Bessemer, but what does it entail?

That young scalliwag Mr Filmer is the genius behind it all, but what Daizy era is being celebrated? I suspect it's mainly for Human League fans and Bowie look-alikes. If anyone knows, please say, 'cause if it is so and I turn up in my loons and platforms and cheescloth shirt and jacket with rounded lapels with a George McCrae LP under my arm and I get funny looks then there will be trouble.;)

Oh dear! I fear the worst!

As a "Crazy-Daisy" goer from the mid 1970's I cannot think of anything worse than some kind of reunion for those who were regulars of the club.

It would be a sad thing indeed. For us to all see each other again, ravaged by time. My luxuriant chestnut coloured hair, which I used to blow-dry to perfection and turn under at the back using a circular brush, is now reduced to grey stubble, the colour of cigarette ash and I've got a bit of a sunroof! So I keep my hair shaved pretty close these-days - a far cry from my shoulder length effort back then. I am also two or three stone heavier than back then, although I still have all my own teeth, even if I have lost my fringe.

But what about the others eh?

Those gorgeous girls that would gyre and gimble on the dance floor with hour glass figures and set the heart racing. Many of them will have gone all fat and wobbly with double chins and bingo wings. (Mind you, they might have got some nice daughters that they could bring along?)

It's best sometimes not to go back I think. Not unless we could all be put in a time machine and re-live the experience again as we were then, only with this added wisdom.

No mention of George McCrae or Andy Kim, eh? Well, I'll go, but only on the understanding that there will have to be sweaty condensation dripping off the timber-clad ceiling and the lager has to be warm and flat:)

If you think the thought of the hot pants wearers from the Daizy 40 years on is too much to bear, just be thankful there isn't a full-on Saturday-lunchtime-at-The-Hofbrauhaus reunion! What do go-go dancers and...er...specialist dance entertainers look like 4 decades on?
