alchresearch
How did the Post Office sale / conversion go? That was a similar building in a similar position.
Vague_Boy
"Residential development for sale". More city centre apartments. Lovely. To my mind you'd have to be a pretty by fan of "centro" living to want to live in an apartment with views of Castle Market/Haymarket.
dafodil
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-34174920 http://www.rightmove.co.uk/commercial-property-for-sale/property-54349019.html/svr/2704;jsessionid=D145FE66E6E1B73FF20EAFCAAA957167?premiumA=true The area around has been ruined by moving the Market. If the building was in a similar place in say Manchester or Leeds then the price would be at least double the two million .
Cyclone
The comments from the listed building people seem to assume that it's going to be converted to residential use.

There were artists pictures of a little grassy park type thing at one point? ---------- Post added 07-09-2015 at 13:48 ---------- The comments from the listed building people seem to assume that it's going to be converted to residential use. mrsb73
How did the Post Office sale / conversion go? That was a similar building in a similar position. The post office was I believe purchased by Hallam University for the Arts faculty and is currently undergoing conversion.

To my mind you'd have to be a pretty by fan of "centro" living to want to live in an apartment with views of Castle Market/Haymarket. I think with the redeveloped park and offices opposite it would start to become a decent area. The internals are all listed, integrating court house furnishings into city centre flats, has got to be a pretty difficult task. I can't see it myself, I think we'll be looking at bars, restaurants or perhaps a hotel. The suggestion from the owners is pretty much pie in the sky, they haven't paid any attention to the building since they bought it in the first place.
