taxman
The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority has named a number of MPs who had been told to pay back wrongly claimed expenses but refused to do so. Ipsa said it asked the individuals for the money several times, and warned them that their names would be published. MPs have privately said the latest tactic by Ipsa is “childish” and “silly”. “These are small amounts and will, of course, be paid back by most MPs,” one MP said. Well if they are such small amounts pay them back then! After all they recently got an extra £10k pay rise. The amounts aren't a lot in the big scheme of things but surely there is a principle at stake. In how many other jobs would the amounts just be written off? L00b
MPs have privately said the latest tactic by Ipsa is “childish” and “silly”.Rubbish, the tactic can't be coming as a surprise to the MPs: it's long been standard practice by the British government and its organisations. The government has been regularly publishing details of employers convicted of paying less than NWM. The UKIPO has been publishing details of defaulters on Tribunal section cost orders for years. I've put a fair few on there myself.

apelike
MPs have privately said the latest tactic by Ipsa is “childish” and “silly”. Are they the same MP's who backed Harriet Harman in her attempt to have the FOI request on MP's expenses stopped from being disclosed?
gomgeg
MPs named and shamed, good grief is this a wind up, they're MPs so how can they be shamed. The same report said the total claimed was about £106million Now I'm no good at maths but doesn't that average about £163K each which seems a little excessive.
