apelike Posted September 20, 2015 Share Posted September 20, 2015 If you can take the barrel off then soak it in a strong solution of caustic soda for a while. That should soften and break down the wood, and then give it a good rinse in water and spray with WD40. Don't forget to wear gloves and eye protection.
