PeteMorris
You should never base best practice on one piece of research, especially an unpublished piece of research. Or unpublished research because it didn't say what they wanted it to say?
Chavtyke
Same here.. I must admit to causing a stir in Wilko though.. When asked if i wanted a bag I said I had one in doors. Think it got taken the wrong way! Witty .....! Did you say "old" too? If not you should have Lol
JFKvsNixon
Or unpublished research because it didn't say what they wanted it to say? Who knows. It could be government conspiracy to make us give a little money to charity or it could have had been funded by people who have an interest in keeping the bags free. Or the research may just be flawed. If the scientific concusses does say that it's environmentally friendly to use plastic bags then hooray, it's one less problem to worry about. Eric Arthur
that'll be fun carrying 20 reusable carrier bags around the supermarket each week. Don't you have any other bags in your life? No rucksacks or sports bags or holdalls or a wheelie suitcase? Can't you keep hold of those sacks that get pushed through the letterbox? Have you got so little imagination that you can't come up with a way of putting a lot of things inside a few things so that you can move them from A to B? One of the sacks that get put through your letterbox that are so thin, just opening it makes a hole? No thanks! I'll just resort to stuffing my pockets...(mind you it's a devil trying to put corn flake boxes in your pockets!)

Once its the norm for people to take such things into supermarkets it may lead to an increase in shoplifting.

Eric Arthur
A wheelie suitcase?...To go shopping with Why not? It is a much better idea allowing it to gather dust in your loft between weekends at your rented caravan in Skegness. One of the sacks that get put through your letterbox that are so thin, just opening it makes a hole? Never let it be said that you can't put a bag in a bag. Starlet83
In the store I work we have been told that the self scan colleagues will have the bags and dispense them to the customer as required and ensure they are added to the transaction. That's going to be very time consuming.
iansheff
I asked if Asda was going to use better ones if they were charging for them and was told no they are the same as the ones they have now.
