PeteMorris
In the store I work we have been told that the self scan colleagues will have the bags and dispense them to the customer as required and ensure they are added to the transaction. That's going to be very time consuming. WOW!...really?...What a nightmare!...And how on a busy day, are they supposed to 'ensure' they are added to the transaction?...Examine everyone's receipt?...That's ridiculous! Agent Orange
You're the first person I've come across that can do a week or monthly grocery shop using your pockets!....Saves going on a diet I guess You never mentioned a week or monthly grocery shop. Your example was two items.
dangerousedd
i'll just pay the extra £1 rather than cart around a large suitcase I don't own.

No they will just give you the amount of bags you ask them for then add them to your transaction for you from what I understand
spilldig
We don't chuck ours away they are just shoved down the side of the fridge, hence why we have around a thousand No trick question, but what do you use for bin liners ? Have you been using them as binliners or paying for binliners or worse still, not using any. Edited September 29, 2015 by spilldig
Allen
I don't understand why everyone seems to be getting their knickers in a twist! It's no hardship to use the same bag, rather than disposable plastic bags. I bought half a dozen (foldable) cloth bags from poundland...two for a pound. Four years on....and still using the same bags. Just what do you object to?
alchresearch
Makes you wonder how the likes of Aldi and Lidl are still in business with the MASSIVE OUTRAGE at about to be charged for bags when they've done it for years.
Berberis
I don't understand why everyone seems to be getting their knickers in a twist! It's no hardship to use the same bag, rather than disposable plastic bags. This would work IF you only buy what you left the house to get. But as Shops are doing their very best to shove as much at you to buy now, 25% extra free, BOGOFF etc etc, you almost always end up leaving the shop with more then you intended to buy. Therefore you will need extra shopping bags. In an ideal world, you are correct, but we do not live in such a place.
kay1
who ever is getting the benefit of the 5p charge (Stores or Treasury) will it be published yearly or 6 monthly how much money as been donated to charity from the sale of these bags? I doubt it very much.
SnailyBoy
who ever is getting the benefit of the 5p charge (Stores or Treasury) will it be published yearly or 6 monthly how much money as been donated to charity from the sale of these bags? I doubt it very much. The charge includes an element of VAT, so the Treasury will get that. Are you suggesting that even though the major storeshave have said they'll donate to money to charity, they won't?
