5p charge for carrier bags

Makes you wonder how the likes of Aldi and Lidl are still in business with the MASSIVE OUTRAGE at about to be charged for bags when they've done it for years.

I never minded Aldi and Iidl not giving me a bag because it enabled them to keep their prices even lower, mind you,I was a bit outraged when they stopped making the empty boxes available.

Buy a strong reusable bag. They can last for years.

This is what I've done. They cost just 10p, which is little more than the cheap, thin single-use bags the Tories will start charging us 5p for.

Plus, my green Home & Bargain-branded strong bag will be the envy of little old ladies everywhere

Outraged!:hihi:

Did you feel the urge to go on a mass killing spree?

When I was younger plastic bags in supermarkets were just that, thick plastic that obviously caused all sorts of problems when dumped, put in landfill etc, the flimsy bags that we use now were introduced as they are bio-degradable (try putting one in the loft for a while and it falls into pieces when you touch it), now the supermarkets have scrapped these and are offering bags costing 5p each made of (drum roll) thick plastic!!!!!!!

It'll be a nice litter earner for someone but lets not pretend its doing the environment a favour.
