By the looks of it the indigenous people of the Caribbean all died out, mostly due to infectious diseases brought over by the Spanish sailors. An apology isn't the same as paying billions of pounds, unless you're saying Corbyn has promised the billions. An apology isn't an admission of guilt either, it's more about how mature we've grown as a nation in recognising our past. And there's nothing wrong with saying 'sorry' even though you didn't actually own the keys to the shackles. Blacks and Whites both played their part in the trade..westerners took it to another level and industrialized it. Disease was a problem but don't be fooled that hundreds of thousands didn't suffer outside of disease, otherwise we might as well talk about Auschwitz having a swimming pool and a gymnasium for the good of the inhabitants as a means of denial of what really did kick off.. And why should today's (higher) tax payers who have never had slaves pay reparations to people who have never been slaves? It is illogical stupid and frankly embarrassing for the Jamaican people.
