S17, Bradway’s popular coffee shop and bistro, is set to relaunch this November with a new menu and an exciting new look which will see its capacity increase.

The striking refurbishment is the work of Sheffield-based interior designer, Sally Flude, who will be updating the bistro with a modern, industrial and chic look. Bi-fold windows are being fitted across the shop front to make the most of the light and an arched theatre pass is being built to provide an insight into the kitchen. One of the most significant changes will be the capacity of the bistro which will see it increase its seating to 36 inside with an additional 20 seats outside.

Andy Forder, owner and head chef at S17, says: “We’ve been running successful bistro nights once a month for a while now and they always sell out. The decision to expand our footprint and relaunch S17 was based partly on this but it’s also customer driven. Bradway is currently underserved by dining experiences yet this is a thriving area with a great sense of community. Our customers told us they wanted more flexibility to dine with us in the evenings and so we listened.”

This new chapter for S17 is a dream come true for Andy. Born and raised in neighbouring Greenhill, Andy’s passion for food started with a work experience session at the prestigious Cutler’s Hall. This inspired him to achieve his Diploma in Catering Hospitality and from here, he secured his first job at the revered Michelin starred Fischer’s at Baslow Hall. A change in direction brought him to S17 and, when the opportunity to purchase the café bistro arose, Andy jumped at the chance.

Andy says: “I’m really looking forward to launching our new innovative menu which will showcase the most delicious, locally sourced, seasonal food. I would like us to be achieving awards for it within a year. ” But, he stresses, “It won’t be pretentious. I want customers to leave feeling fully satisfied, both in terms of food and value for money. That’s one of the reasons we’ll be remaining as a BYO.”

S17 will close for a week at the start of November to accommodate the refurbishment and will reopen the week beginning the 9th with a special event planned to mark the occasion.

How are they going to fit the number inside and 20 outside? Are they expanding into one of the next door shops? It's already quite cramped. Is extra parking going to be added ? They do good breakfasts.
