Missing Street Trees.

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what is happening about the street trees that are being removed during the road repairs in Sheffield.

In the summer I watched many rather lovely cherry trees being cut down. At the time we were informed that replacement trees would be planted later in the year. However the holes from which the trees were removed were tarmaced over a couple of weeks ago, which seems a strange thing to do if they are about to plant new trees in the holes.

You've probably answered your own question really, they ripped them out and then lied about their replacement.

Enjoy your tarmac :(

well that's as maybe. but amey did send a plan showing the type of new tree that was to be put in these holes. they were also rumoured to have been paid £2000 for each tree they replaced. not each tree they replaced with tarmac.

It would be fine if trees provided wifi, etc. We'd have all the preservation orders we needed.

Such a shame they only provide the oxygen we breathe!

I bet they've pocketed the money for each tree they said they'd replace.

:hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi:

This thread should serve as a warning to all those on the other tree thread who blindly believe everything the council and Amey are telling them.

They may be lying, but until someone makes the effort to ask them what their detailed plans for replacement are, with regard to the OP's street in question, you are jumping the gun.
