Sheffield local elections - May 2016

Postal vote to open to fiddling.

But is it really the case?

I cant find any statistics that prove it is happening on a big enough scale to make any difference. All I can find is the usual quotes like yours and this bit in the Daily Mail:

"Judge Richard Mawrey, who sits in judgement on election fraud cases, said ballot-rigging was now a ‘probability’ in some parts of Britain due to the extension of postal voting.

Notice it states probability and not certainty and without any stats how can we tell?

If you ever get chance go to an election count, its wide open to cheating at just about every stage.

So is the main election procedure. If I know peoples names and addresses and know they havent voted I can walk into their polling station and pretend to be them, the fact we dont ask for any ID in this country when voting (apart from in Northern Ireland) is staggering.

If you have ever been to an election count you'll know that that is the last place cheating can occur. Every party has its activists there and every stage is watched by many pairs of eyes.

Unless I missed something; can you tell us where these opportunities for cheating are?

Never mind all that, can he clarify who he voted for in the last election, I dont think he has told us yet.

Oh please, who gets the ballots to the count, who guard them. Who guard the postal votes as they come in ? Then postal votes on demand, wide open to abuse.

You think presiding officers can tamper with the contents of a ballot box between the polling station and the count?

Not a chance. they are sealed at the polling station and witnessed by at least one other person, sealed with a tag with a number on it which has to be recorded, this is then cross referenced at the count.

I take it you're accusing those people whose job it is to do all those things rather than people with political motives. If you have seen anything untoward occurring I suggest you contact The Electoral Commission with your evidence otherwise it's just you showing sour grapes because your party failed to make any inroads into Labour's majority.

Tell me again which party you support.
