Can anyone help please?

Do any of you know of such a building and/or know someone who owns one?

Do these properties end up with developers via the odd 'back hander'?

There are two empty derelict pubs on Neepsend Lane one of them is a listed building the other was a brothel years ago so I have been told.

Farfield Tavern?

The one about halfway up Scotland St always intrigues me as it looks like it was a grand old pub once.

Burgoyne, Langsett Rd is approaching a similar state.

Scotland Street pub was the Queens Hotel closed in 1997 a Wards pub currently is up for sale along with the factory building next door.

Middlewood Tavern at Middlewood?

The current owners of that place are attempting to do something, although IIRC they didn't get planning permission and got a back-hander from SCC for doing illegal work.

Not sure if that makes them more or less likely to want to sell it, either way they sound abit dodgy.
