Bolsterstone
The poster is looking for a pub without neighbours . I appreciate that - however I do not know of any rural pubs which fit the bill and the Hare and Hounds is probably the best example I could think of

Can anyone help please? Do any of you know of such a building and/or know someone who owns one? Do these properties end up with developers via the odd 'back hander'? There are two empty derelict pubs on Neepsend Lane one of them is a listed building the other was a brothel years ago so I have been told. Farfield Tavern? Bilge
The one about halfway up Scotland St always intrigues me as it looks like it was a grand old pub once. Burgoyne, Langsett Rd is approaching a similar state.
SpiderPete
How about the Old Harrow on Broad Street? That pub is opposite student block of flats and it has been empty for ages, doesn't look in good state now.
cookingfat50
it's hard to get permission for a change of use for any building no matter hw good the intention is, to make a difference.

geared
Middlewood Tavern at Middlewood? The current owners of that place are attempting to do something, although IIRC they didn't get planning permission and got a back-hander from SCC for doing illegal work. Not sure if that makes them more or less likely to want to sell it, either way they sound abit dodgy.
