PeteMorris
hi guys. does anyone know the best place to go for a recoating/cleaning of a platinum engagement ring around sheffield? thanks I'm puzzled if it's platinum, why it would need re-coating? Surely a good clean and polish would be the right thing?...Unless it's just a plated ring!

I think the OP might mean they used to have a tiny little coat or jacket for their ring but now need a new one. I have a 1978 Jawa figure with a vinyl coat that might fit the ring quite snuggly. When they repair, it's standard practice I think to polish it up anyway...That way it also disguises the repair and blends it in with the rest of the ring. Pretty much any reputable jewellers will do the job for you. But I'd get a quote from them first, to make sure you don't faint when you pick it back up again! Berberis
PA jewellery are really nice and helpful. Why not give them a try. The Old Bank, 23 Commonside, Sheffield, South Yorkshire S10 1GD pajewellery.com I would steer clear of the likes of ERNEST JONES in Meadowhall.
