blowfealt
Climbing isn't cheap, you need equipment of all kinds for a start, which I for one buy locally. You also need to eat and drink, and when the weather is like today you need to climb at an indoor centre, which certainly isn't free. ---------- Post added 21-10-2015 at 08:37 ---------- If you're expecting Sheffield to do something outdoors that is entirely unique and that you can't do anywhere else, then you're probably going to be disappointed. ---------- Post added 21-10-2015 at 08:40 ---------- Err? Homeless person. I don't think you really understand. For example; http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/whatson/lecturesandseminars Parkwood Springs, neepsend. Not done them then. I didn't claim that they did, I was simply questioning your claim to have done everything possible in Sheffield thousands of times. So in conclusion you haven't done everything possible thousands of times. ---------- Post added 21-10-2015 at 08:41 ---------- Clearly neither of you two actually know what a troll is. I'll tell you for free, it's not just everyone who doesn't agree with you immediately and challenges your wild statements like "I've done everything possible in Sheffield a thousand times"... Anybody can see that this is just a term of speech, not to be taken literally. Only an idiot or a troll would challenge this so avidly, wouldn't they? How do you react when a mate says something like "I'm starving, I could eat a horse"? I Think you are a decent poster, Cyclone - but have got into a habit of arguing for kicks - not cool. Anyway, back on topic - Do you think that rock climbing and cycling are enough to give our city the edge over other cities that may reasonably considered to be the world's first "outdoor city"? Cyclone
I think that people shouldn't say things that they don't mean. It's not a figure of speech, it's just a misleading statement.

Isabelle
I was reading a business magazine at work about this, it was talking about how Sheffield is an outdoor city and showing how businesses had and could benefit from this. The main focus was mountain biking, and it featured Steve Peat, who is of course from Sheffield and heads the Steel City event every year. I know Sheffield is popular for the downhill trails, I've seen people travel from Lincoln and Leeds to use them.
