Painting fresh plaster ??

Recommended Posts

I've just had my kitchen ripped out, re-boarded and skimmed. I want to give it a quick base coat before the new kitchen is fitted.

What is the best way? I have a large pot of Glidden contract Matt emulsion, If I remember I need to water it down for the first couple of coats?? How many watered down coats and how much water?

Does the plaster need to be completely dry before applying? It's looking pretty dry but still has a fair few dark patches. It was plastered Tuesday / Wednesday I think.

Cheers

:)

I would wait for it to dry fully, give it a week at least and light pink is the colour when dry.

I add 25% to 30% water for mist coating and apply with a good quality roller....

Yes, unlike our Prince, on that DIY SOS programme the other night.
