Halibut
A three year old Chicago boy accidentally shot in the head and killed by his six year old brother. Mind numbingly awful is the research by the Washington Post showing that 43 people have been shot by kids younger than three - this year alone, so far. More here from the Indy - http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/toddler-dies-after-accidentally-being-shot-in-head-by-six-year-old-brother-a6698711.html The more people shout about this and shame America publicly, the more likely it is that they'll eventually take their heads out of their backsides and act. John23
Now that is so sad but unfortunately predictable in a country with so many guns.

sandy18
Six is far too young to have access to a gun, shame on the parents for allowing it. The web is full of stories about children killing or injuring people whilst driving cars they shouldn't be driving. 3-year-old drives car over baby in accident in Slovenia. Both are preventable accidents with good parenting, don't leave kids unsupervised with guns, cars, knives and hundreds of other useful tools that can kill in the wrong hands. Cars aren't supposed to kill people, they have all sorts of safety measures to try and prevent this. On the other hand, the primary purpose and pretty much only reason for the existence of guns is to kill people, that's what they're for. Guns aren't like cars or other 'useful tools that can kill in the wrong hands' Guns are for killing, it's their primary purpose, they can kill extremely easily in any hands. Happ Hazzard
Banning guns wouldn't prevent this any more than banning drugs prevents instances of children overdosing on their parents drugs.

If you can find me poll suggesting that more than 50% of the American public want serious gun control I'd be staggered. As it happens, Chicago gun control is fairly strict compared with a lot of places in the states. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_Illinois Their gaff, their rules - good or bad. In the USA I suspect they are more widely used for the killing of non human animals whilst hunting, they are made and sold in the USA for hunting and self defense. In the wrong hands just like cars they can be used to kill people.
