cgksheff
Different tests have different ranges of readings. See here: http://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetes_care/blood-sugar-level-ranges.html Sounds like an HbA1c test result?

I was certain she was going to tell me off!!!! You're welcome 7.5 Thats still well within the fairly good range, I've a few other medical conditions and sometimes I have to sacrifice my Hba1c levels, my last 2 had been really good around the 41-5.9 and 44-6.2 my next, if my recent 16kg weight gain is anything to go by it'll will a whopper. ---------- Post added 25-10-2015 at 01:30 ---------- I thought Diabetes could be cured. Hope you get it sorted - if it's a problem. There's a few things that can be tried to kick start the pancreas, but diabetes is pretty much a life long condition that can only be managed, but even then it will often throw a curve ball or two without warning even if you are taking care of yourself. El Cid
There's a few things that can be tried to kick start the pancreas, but diabetes is pretty much a life long condition that can only be managed, but even then it will often throw a curve ball or two without warning even if you are taking care of yourself. I think this is what RickyM meant. “A crash diet could end the misery of type 2 diabetes for millions of sufferers,” reported the Daily Mirror. It said a study has found that a “special 600-calories-a-day eating plan cuts fat in the pancreas and prompts insulin cells to wake up after just eight weeks”. Many newspapers covered this study, and most claimed that it has found a “cure”. However, this was a very small, preliminary study in only 11 obese people with type 2 diabetes. Referring to this diet as a cure exaggerates the significance of the findings. http://www.nhs.uk/news/2011/06June/Pages/type-2-diabetes-and-low-calorie-diets.aspx The hunt for a cure for type 1 diabetes has recently taken a "tremendous step forward", scientists have said. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-29566784

ANGELFIRE1
I am type 2 diabetic. Lost 9 stone (Thanks to Gastric Sleeve) and blood sugars have dropped well below the limit where you should be worried. Northern General still class me as Type 2 even so. scousemouse
Thanks for all the recent updates! I think my drop in sugar levels has been due to walking a lot more, I have dogs and have always done two walks a day, but am walking much further. Downside..........I now have a very painful condition called 'policemans heel' ( can't remember the medical term!') The treatment is rest, painkillers etc!!!!
