Winter (or actual) time.

Recommended Posts

I'm really rather fed up of time.

I suggest that it be decimalised. Based ideally on the length of the day.

1 second would be about 10 microdays.

All times would be expressed in powers of 10 of the day.

Giant rockets will have to be constructed to persuade the earth to go around the sun in either 100 or 1000 days.

Anybody uttering the word "week" is to be battered with 7 herring.

The time of day will be the same throughout the world and the start and end of the working day will change rather than the actual time.

A better metrication scheme would leave years/weeks/days unscathed, but:

1. There are 96 [= nearly 100] quarter-hours in a day.

2. There are 86 400 [= nearly 100 000] seconds in a day.

3. So abolish hours/minutes/seconds, all units with little reference to anything real (unlike days and years).

3. A QUARTY will be the larger replacement.

4. A MOMENT will be the smaller replacement.

5. One day= 100 quarties.

6. One quarty= 1000 moments.

Done.

A good metrication system would not have the numbers 7 or 365 and a quarter in it.
