El Cid
FIRMS WILL be forced to include bonus payments when they publish details of the pay gap between men and women employees, the Government has announced. Do men work longer hours than women? So this new study could find that men get more pay than women. Did part-time work used to be paid at a lower rate than full time, but that was outlawed due to equal rights, as women tended to work fewer hours. So if men get time and a half or double time for working more hours, could that be outlawed too?
medusa
What they're trying to work out is how the pay gap is still an average of 19% between the genders in those above 40 years of age. Maybe it's to do with women not being promoted because they work part time or issues resulting from taking career breaks to raise children. Until that can be identified there isn't any way of suggesting what will be outlawed.

If men get time and a half or double time for working more hours and/or women aren't offered the opportunity to work extra hours then yes. Not one of life's most difficult conundrums. Michael_W
Grievance procedures are available to employees to deal with opportunities within the workplace do women not use them ? Do women agree with 'Wimbledon' type pay equality where they can earn the same as a man for doing less ? Unlikely, as extra pay for overtime would be available on equal terms to everyone independent of gender.
