ez8004
The list is absurd when it lists Rowing AND Sculling separately. What do they think Sculling really is? I am sure British Rowing will have an opinion.
Happ Hazzard
How do they expect state school kids to be able to compete in the Olympics? The team in 2020 will probably be 90%+ Private Educated.
runningman1
This is terrible news! I remember fondly my time at the local comp, jauntily around our lake learning how to sail.

If the list was for posh kids, shooting would be included as well.
NatAw
These sports are normally introduced to children through friends and relatives with most schools unable to meet the funding required to equip themselves with such resources. The document referred to states that awarding organisations have proposed the list based upon the suitability of activities as a means of assessing students’ skills as part of a physical education qualification. Hopman
Well, back in the old days we practised our 'O' Level dressage skills in the dining hall using the tables and chairs. Never did me any harm, apart from a hernia at 15. As for fencing, I never was any good at woodwork. As regards Winter Sports, ice skating during the winter months was a common activity in the boys' (unheated) loos.
