Identify a wild duck please

On the dam on Rivelin Valley Rd ,just above the fire station there are a pair of ducks amongst the mallards which are white with black markings on the body and head.

Is this a species (can't find it if it is) or some sort of mutant.

I haven't got a photo but will try to post one as they are always there and have been for several years.

They are basically white but with black patches all over......not a black head or black tail.

Just mottled all over,but thanks for your interest.

Coming from just down the road, my guess is that it's the Hillsborough Tree Penguins mucking around on a day out (of prison, some would hope). :huh:

 

Eeek! … don't know what happened there. I emboldened the specific text I was responding to in the post, but did nothing to make the rest disappear. :suspect:
