Stannington, suspicious white van

Recommended Posts

Hi

Just a heads up if you live in the area. We arrived home to find a white transit van pulled opposite our house. 2 out of the 3 passengers were walking slowly looking down drives and at cars.

My husband asked if they were alright, and they said they were meeting the owners of a car for sale on our front. Unbeknown to them it was our car and we said nothing had been arranged. This caught him off guard, they asked the price, which is clearly stated in the for sale sign. My husband said 'your not here for the car are you' they quickly scarpered but we forgot to take down the registration.

This could be nothing, just an innocent strange incident, but thought it best to be observant and give people the heads up.

Thanks

Have you reported it to 101?

This seems to be the standard question asked by many in this forum.

In the last couple of months i have had the (dis)pleasure of ringing 101 a few times and i have to say, not sure i'll ever bother again.

Not only do you need 30-40 minutes spare just to get through, i never once got the feeling the operators gave a monkeys about the issues being reported.

At one point i got the distinct feeling i was doing something wrong by even reporting anti-social behaviour because the police cannot/will not do anything about it.

And it would be nice if they were being sincere when asking the question but its usually just about being cocky.

I have rung 101 on few occasions and always got straight through

Report what exactly ?

Is it now illegal to walk up and down a road. ?

There was a bit more to it than that judging by what the OP has stated. We all know suspicious behavior when we see it.
