Is it safe to holiday in Muslim countries now?

Recommended Posts

Perhaps they didn't want to kill civilian tanker drivers. But I agree with you and the Russians on this. There probably aren't many civilians in ISIS controlled Syria who aren't in someway helping ISIS in one way or another. So why bother with smart bombs at all.

Geneva conventions and you have to think about what happens after, when theres peace.

So how many tourists have been killed by "normal" Americans going on killing sprees with assault rifles in Miami Beach so far this year? To the nearest one will do just fime.

Hardly a fair comparison to an entire country is it...

How many have been killed in Side, Turkey this year. None. Does that prove that Turkey is 100% safe, no of course it doesn't.

In 2014 12 1/2 thousand people were killed by guns in the US. And twice as many were injured. Mostly US citizens of course.

Just today a Christian extremist terrorist in the US killed 3 people.

It's like you have blinkers on or something.

  • 1 month later...

It seems there has been yet another IS attack on tourists in Sinai.

http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2016/1/8/gunmen-open-fire-at-egyptian-hotel-wounding-foreign-tourists.html

The attack came just hours after the local affiliate of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant claimed responsibility for an attack a day earlier on a hotel in Cairo near the Giza Pyramids. No one was hurt in the Thursday attack in which a group of over a dozen men fired flares and birdshot at a security post outside a hotel where Palestinian tourists from Israel were staying. The attackers had apparently mistaken them for Israeli Jews, who ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has asked his followers to target.

Wasn't there a bomb attack about a month ago as well?

Sending the RAF in to bomb Syria certainly seems to be working. More please!

Why would you link the two? This terrorist group had been active long before the UK extended its operations to Syria. Attacks were alwats goung to happen. This one has little to do with the UK.

It wasn't an attack on Britain or British citizens, unlike the Tunisian attacks which happened before the Syrian attacks. It seems that a further terrorist attack took place in Egypt today. 2 police officers and 2 IS terrorists are reported killed.

3 terrorist attacks in Egypt this week.

It has probably never been so unsafe for a person from a western country to visit predominantly Muslim countries today, especially those in the Middle East. Why do British people potentially put themselves at risk just to seek sunshine?

Because they're usually cheap

And people get depressed

With no sun all year :gag:

I read last week that we'd actually only bombed Syria a few times since the RAF got the green light. Everything has been going to Iraq.

Read the same article. it was 90% Iraq as well as 75% of all missions returning with bomns undropped for lack of clear target opportunity.

off to Marrakesh,Morocco in March, went the same time last year, didnt feel unsafe although we were always vigilant, the percentage chances of anything happening are pretty much the same as any country right now.

we loved the hospitality we received and we respected the culture.

however i wouldnt go to Egypt or surrounding countries.
