Is it safe to holiday in Muslim countries now?

Oh For goodness sake your attitude is appalling and is the main reason that many people no longer participate in discussions on this forum. It is my opinion that in the context of this particular thread it really doesn't matter which country, we are talking about issue with Muslim countries in general, feel free to disagree but if you are able then please keep the conversation pleasant and civil.

I've always wanted to go on a tour to Iran. Such an amazing country more or less impossible to visit as a tourist until recent events have made that much easier.

Architecture and wildlife are amazing and from what I've heard the hospitality is unparalleled.

Actually Iran is one Muslim country I'd be happy to visit at the moment. I've worked with plenty of people who've been to work there and universally they said they had a great time. They say the Iranian people, especially the younger generations, are super friendly and inquisitive about the West.

It's obviously impossible for you and others on this forum to accept another persons point of view without resorting to insults. My english is perfectly clear, the title of this thread states muslim countries as a whole, the fact that you choose to discuss the merits of any particular one does not mean that I am wrong. i fully understand that Iran is different from other muslim countries but it is still a muslim country.

And your views are ignorant too. There is a major difference between a Muslim visiting a Muslim country and a non Muslim visiting it. Something you would realise if you visited Alabama or Moscow.

It is acceptable to discuss Muslim countries as a collective just like it is acceptable to discuss European countries as a collective.

no it isn't. Muslim countries are spread out over almost the whole world and not just a single continent. For example South East Asian Muslim countries are totally different in character to Middle Eastern ones. Malaysia and Lebanon both have about 60-65% Muslim inhabitants. But that is about the only thing in common that they do have.

Well you would know all about using gross invalid stereotypes and seem very happy to serve them up in at every given opportunity. Most people come to this forum to participate in discussion, name calling does nothing to enhance anyones experience not does it add anything good to the discussions; for the ones on this forum who don't understand the word, discussion should be where reasons are advanced for and against the topic. Rational people do not descend into name calling, it's childish and extremely tedious.
