I left a "none of the above" answer in case theres a definition I failed to consider.

This attack on the poll question strikes me as a reaction to the fact you don't like the result.

Not at all. I dont care, but why would one result be better than any other? Maybe the points are being raised about the poll because you know, they just might be true. Id have pointed it out if it had been about anything but was flawed in the same way.

As i said im all for intelligent debate, but there are some things that will be a bit of hard work. People are going to answer with what most traditionally fits with their idea of the left. The most popular choice has the majority of traits associated with the left, so to choose something else would to some extent be abandoning those traits. Its self selecting.

Perhaps a poll wasnt the best method?

Presumably you are after an answer and some informative discussion, not just people slating off one side or another. Have a look on quora, there are more people on there who can provide considered informative answers of the type that youd appreciate.

You're entitled to your clearly minority opinion.

The rest of us will carry on with the actual meanings of these words in current usage.

I thought what I was stating was self evidently true - that political beliefs and ideologies are subjective. That there are tensions and contradictions within different ideologies and this is revealed often when they are put into practice.

Whether we like the result or not is not the point.

The point is that you can glean 0 useful information from the results of that poll. Absolutely nothing.

A completely anonymous self selecting sample of less than 30 answering a weighted question.

Seriously, there is absolutely no information there, you cannot draw any conclusions from it. Any conclusions you do draw are meaningless and do not have anything to back them up.

If you say so.

Well no, if you have any understanding of maths. Keep scratching your head 'till you get it.

The statistical error error on a sample of 25 is 5. There is therefore a 67% chance that the answers are correct to within ±5 and a 97% chance that they are connect to within ±10.

If you want to invalidate the poll, you'll have to offer evidence of systematic bias.

Assuming you've taken the sample correctly.

What you have is a self selecting sample consisting I suspect largely of people who tend to agree with you on this website, hell I almost didn't even click on this thread because I knew it would be stupid.

I don't need to do anything at all to invalidate the conclusions that you are drawing about the whole of the English speaking world based on a sample of 25 from a local website. They were never valid.

I shall remember all this if you or your supporters ever post a poll on anything.

Or for that matter any demands for evidence.

It's quite clear to me that evidence can only be valid to you if it supports your established opinions.
