The only reason it hasn't happened in the UK is that we are an island. .... Yet!!!! How can you seal off a country like France with eight borders with other countries? They haven't a clue who is in the France at any one time, it's an impossible situation.

And you think England has?

Extremist views aren't home grown. They are the result of a seriously dubious religion that isnt part of the homegrowing of the UK.

Another one who thinks he knows it all.

Islam has been around over 1400 hundred years and has over a billion followers- if the religion was the cause of terrorism, why do the majority of the Muslim not participate in this mindless violence?

Whether this attack was done by Islamic extremists or not, it has nothing to do with the religion- those who knew Islam as what it was (and still is) said it over history. Here's a reminder for you:

Nepolean Bonaparte – Quoted in Christian Cherfils BONAPARTE ET ISLAM (PARIS 1914):

“I hope the time is not far off when I shall be able to unite all the wise and educated men of all the countries and establish a uniform regime based on the principles of Qur'an which alone are true and which alone can lead men to happiness.”

M.K.Gandhi, YOUNG INDIA, 1924:

"...I became more than ever convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the prophet, the scrupulous regard for his pledges, his intense devotion to his friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and his own mission. These, and not the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every trouble." YOUNG INDIA, 1924

Lamartine - Histoire de la Turquie, Paris 1854, Vol II, pp. 276-77:

"If greatness of purpose, smallness of means, and astounding results are the three criteria of human genius, who could dare to compare any great man in modern history with Muhammad? The most famous men created arms, laws and empires only. They founded, if anything at all, no more than material powers which often crumbled away before their eyes. This man moved not only armies, legislations, empires, peoples and dynasties, but millions of men in one-third of the then inhabited world; and more than that, he moved the altars, the gods, the religions, the ideas, the beliefs and souls... the forbearance in victory, his ambition, which was entirely devoted to one idea and in no manner striving for an empire; his endless prayers, his mystic conversations with God, his death and his triumph after death; all these attest not to an imposture but to a firm conviction which gave him the power to restore a dogma. This dogma was twofold, the unit of God and the immateriality of God; the former telling what God is, the latter telling what God is not; the one overthrowing false gods with the sword, the other starting an idea with words.

"Philosopher, orator, apostle, legislator, warrior, conqueror of ideas, restorer of rational dogmas, of a cult without images; the founder of twenty terrestrial empires and of one spiritual empire, that is Muhammad. As regards all standards by which human greatness may be measured, we may well ask, is there any man greater than he?"

Rev.Bosworth Smith, Mohammed and Mohammadanism, London 1874, p. 92:

"He was Caesar and Pope in one; but he was Pope without Pope's pretensions, Caesar without the legions of Caesar: without a standing army, without a bodyguard, without a palace, without a fixedREVENUE; if ever any man had the right to say that he ruled by the right divine, it was Mohammed, for he had all the power without its instruments and without its supports."

GeorgeBernard Shaw - The Genuine Islam Vol.No.8, 1936:

“I believe if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world he would succeed in solving its problems in away that would bring much needed peace and happiness. I have studied him - the man and in my opinion is far from being an anti–Christ. He must be called the Savior of Humanity. I have prophesied about the faith of Mohammad that it would be acceptable the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today.”

Churchill - The River War

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die: but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome"

It would be hard to come up with a more embarrasingly naive statement than that while they are counting bodies in Paris. Alluha Akhbar to you too.

Shocking scenes, thoughts to all involved :(

Any heads coming out of the sand yet? blinkers slipping? ..No!! thought not, carry on

No, it will just be the usually noble posturing from our politicians. Standing there with grave faces.. "The men of violence will not be allowed to divide us.." "The vast majority of peace loving..." "Condemned in the strongest possible terms..."

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Heard it all before and we'll doubtless hear it all again.

It's war.

This is not a small isolated group of fanatics, nor a political movement with grievances that can be reasoned with.

We need to treat it as a war and act accordingly.

We're still the strong militarily, but that won't last forever.

We're making the same mistake that Chamberlain made.

This is the time to get secularists, moderate theists including moderate muslims, Hindus, Confucianists and everybody else who is not IS together and squash them. It won't be pretty, but it's the lesser evil.

Just like that other imported Middle Eastern religion called Christianity?

I take it you follow the authentic British Pagan traditions?

Say if we got into a conventional war with Russia. It was a stalemate so they dropped a small nuclear devise on a town, completely destroying it, say Chesterfield. Demanding we surrender or Rotherham goes next.

If we have no nuclear weapons, tactical or otherwise, we'd have to surrender.

If we have them this scenario would not happen.

Why is Russia not conquering country after country with this approach? HINT: The number of nuclear powers in the world is still quite small. Most countries don't have them. So what's stopping Russia?
