I've read stuff saying it was an emergency vehicle full of explosives. Auntie Beeb is saying nothing - online at any rate. Possibly waiting for some verification which makes a nice change. Hints of The Newsroom series two!

The Guardian have a live page running, taken from it:

The interior minister for Lower Saxony, Boris Pistorius, said that no arrests had been made so far, and said he could not confirm a report in a local newspaper that explosives had been found in an ambulance outside the stadium.

Corbyn - don't seem to be with it at all , even some of his own mps don't agree with him .

He's todayreported to have said he doesn't agree with security forces shooting to kill terrorists. Does he want to wait til they kill somebody? Then get them a human rights lawyer costing the taxpayer millions.

Mind you I could be misjudging him, it could have been an email from Brenda in Basingstoke.

A more sensible question might have been, would she have allowed the massive influx of foreigners into Iraq, looking for non existant weapons of mass destruction, starting a war that ruined it and fueled the rise if ISIS...........which is nearer to what the thread is about

Yes she would have at the end of her spell as the boss, same as the falklands saved her.If you think back B liar was thought to have done the right thing.

Here's the official story form the Guardian feed about the Germany Vs Holland football match:

  • A football friendly between Germany and Holland in the city of Hanover was cancelled at 7.30pm local time (91 minutes before kick-off) and the stadium evacuated after police received “concrete information” of a terror attack in the stadium.
  • Hanover’s police chief Volker Kluwe told media that the plan was to “detonate explosives” at the stadium. There has been no official confirmation of local media reports that explosives were found near the stadium.
  • Heavily armed police evacuated the stadium, before the German national team even entered the stadium. Team spokesman Jens Gritnner said the team had been taken to a “secure place.”
  • Hanover’s central train station remains partially closed off, as are some public transport stops.
  • Angela Merkel and other leading politicians were due to attend the match, which had been billed as a sign of solidarity towards the victims of the Paris attacks. Merkel flew back home to Berlin after being alerted of the threat.
  • De Maizière said that the tip-off to the threat came from a “foreign source”.
  • No arrests have yet been made.

Due to the shoot to kill policy with the IRA some of the victims' families have won compensation from the Ministry of Defence following cases brought to the European Court of Human Rights against the British government.

David Cameron has not changed the policy to shoot to kill, so I guess he does not want it either.

We did not have a shoot to kill policy and we still ended up killing Jean Charles de Menezes

David Cameron has said 'the police should go right ahead and shoot a terrorist if it means saving lives'. If it's correct what you say it's another excellent reason for scrapping HR legislation and replacing it with 'Rights & Resonsibilities'.

Of course the lawyers love it, who wouldn't when it makes them millions?

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried - what you describe is a recipe for carnage on a worldwide scale.

This is not a war that can be won by violence. It can only be won by changing hearts and minds and long term political solutions.

I suppose you would sit with the Islamic terrorists with tea and buscuits and ask them nicly if they would stop killing westeners ?

He really is absolutely barmy.

Yet more Labour MPs supported him than did any of the other candidates.
