gremlin_mick
Ghoulish, needless, nationalistic and dripping with sickening sentimentality. There are better things to devote one's time to than this but it's what stands for entertainment at the moment. It would be fantastic if we could just move on from this without feeling the need to drag the past up at every opportunity. It's not compulsory.... kaytie
I hope, for safety's sake, they aren't turning off any streetlights. The new one are rubbish enough as it is, but no streetlights in this day and age - can you imagine the number of compensation claims? Stand at the ready 'Ambulance Chasers For You'. philyyy
Only this good, old forum could produce such a stream of negativity about something of this nature.

philyyy
So that people can learn about what happened in the past and, hopefully (looking a bit forlorn recently) not make the same mistakes again. For older folks to commerate their lost friends and family. Maybe.

mossdog
I am sure there are better ways of doing this rather than turning it into a rather bizarre maudlin circus show.I agree we should not make a circus show out of war, although those of an older age group who went through the second world war period may get some comfort from remembering those lost! ..........and a sobering thought is that yesteryear we could have been living under Germanic rule..........tomorrow it could be Islamic rule!..........the lesson is,rule nothing out! What an extraordinary outburst! Will this event prevent us from living under Islamic rule? What exactly is Islamic rule?
Agent Orange
Thanks for that and im happy its not public money but i wont be attending. I dont want to know what it was like the night most of my family were wiped out. Re-enacting it is just ghoulish. You know they are not bombing the city as part of this event, don't you?
