sgtkate
I had to raise about £4k a couple of years ago. Do you work in an office? If so try running a 50/50 draw in your office. Charge £1 a ticket or so and the winner keeps half and your football club keeps the other half. Can raise quite a lot this way. Hit the shops in town and see if they will donate some items. Go with a proper letter on headed paper from the local club stating who you are, what the money is for, and a charity number if you have one. If you don't then explain why you don't. Most shops I visited in this manner donated items to me for the raffle. Some may refer you to their head office, but again most sent me some vouchers to raffle off. Perhaps see if you can some proper support from one of the local clubs, Sheffield FC are very community focussed and might be able to link you up with supporters of community football clubs. Try the FA? If you are a registered club with them, they might have a short-term crisis fund you can get some money from to keep you ticking over. Long term you need to come up with a way to keep cash coming in each week as you can't constantly rely on hand-outs. Does the club charge training fees or match fees?
