JFKvsNixon
The report I posted earlier suggests that unlike healthcare inflation which runs a little higher than CPI, school cost inflation runs a little lower. That was the point I was making. So although the economy was in deflation, financially educational cost are still rising.
Anna B
Apparently deflation is the order of the day. Britain remains stuck in deflation Mmmm, I keep hearing this, but in my experience a lot of prices are rising and some are rocketing...
unbeliever
Mmmm, I keep hearing this, but in my experience a lot of prices are rising and some are rocketing... That was the point I was making. So although the economy was in deflation, financially educational cost are still rising. The normal trend is for education cost inflation to run a little lower than CPI inflation, so education costs normally rise a little more slowly than regular costs. This is a strange time though. I think the low inflation figures are being driven by low oil prices, it's unlikely to last long. We could save an awful lot and help invigorate our industry with energy policy. That would help so many things, including tax revenue and the general cost of everything. EU energy costs are extremely high and whilst there are laudable reasons for this, especially if you're an environmentalist, there's no denying the pain arising from it.
