SLB15
Has anyone had problems with contaminated diesel at the pumps in the last couple of weeks in Sheffield?
Eric Arthur
What sort of contamination? It's much more likely to be a problem with your vehicle or tampering than a filling station that goes to lots of expense to prevent it.

geared
I've not heard of that sorta thing come from contaminated fuel before. Usually with diesel the contamination is water in the fuel, on the odd occasion a dozy delivery driver will stick petrol in the diesel tank and cause havoc. but I've not heard of iron filings before. RootsBooster
Iron filings in the tank Are they actually in the tank itself or is it what's been found in the fuel filter housing?
Obelix
iron shavings are usually caused by the injection pump failing, the ramps and rollers on the high pressure side do this and flake bits off into the fuel stream and make the running rough which seems like bad fuel. This problem cloggs the injectors and causes misfiring and power loss ,but the bits wouldn't be found in the tank.

It hasn't been confirmed that they have been found in the tank.
