spilldig
I don't know if retailers are getting coerced into a drive to get more people down there but when Curry's shut down on Furnivall gate there was a big sign up saying the nearest branch was Meadowhall when it is Heeley Retail park and this week it was the turn of W H Smiths who's branch at Fargate is temporarily closed with a sign up saying the nearest shop is Meadowhall when it is the Midland railway station. Dave h-j
To be fair, the WHSmiths 'shop' at the train station is just a glorified kiosk - not comparable to the fargate shop. If I had been sent down there as an alternative I would have been disappointed.

Interesting tidbit the WH Smith in transport hubs (airports, railway stations, bus stations) and hospitals are run by a different company to the high street chain.
