Jonny5
Doing it not to offend other religious types isn't a good reason.
runningman1
What would the right reason be? ---------- Post added 22-11-2015 at 11:06 ---------- Really? It'll be easy for you to give some examples then, do tell. The singing of "God save the Queen" before sports events. People telling us about "The true meaning of Christmas " Ignorant people on Facebook trying to tell us the true meaning of Islam, Jesus weirdos in town, especially the "what does the Bible really teach" crew Religious schools indoctrinating our children to believe in rubbish Religious people spouting their half baked rubbish on topical shows such as Question Time. "Pray for Paris", on FB (as useful as saying "shine the bat symbol for Paris") That's just a few things to begin with.
Zamo
Really? It'll be easy for you to give some examples then, do tell. Obviously, this is a moving target but check out the BBC news page. Of the first 7 news stories there are 6 that have a link to religion. 1. 'Belgium looking for several suspects' - story relates to Islamic extremists 2. Paris attacks - Manhunt for Abdeslam continues - more Islamic crap 3. PM to outline Syria plan within days - yet more 'how to contain the Islamic extremist threat' crap 4. Osborne refuse to rule out police cuts - story based on the police potentially not being able to respond to... yes... Islamic extremist crap 5. Payer ad cinema ban 'bewilders' Church - the Christians trying to compete for some coverage 6. Two British couple killed in NZ crash - a story not related to religion!! 7. Paris attack caused archbishop doubt - another religious story about someone briefly coming to their senses before returning to the comfort of religious fantasy And now they want to even spoil going to the cinema by making an appearance. Please do go forth and multiple.
Eric Arthur
Can you not actually name one then? Can't give an example of religion being 'in your face' either? Quelle surprise. Obvious current examples that you seem to have missed. Friday 13th, Paris. Today, religious cinema advertising Sheffield Forum constantly. Some of us would rather not hear about religion but it is, as Zamo says, in our face all the time.

max
I think today Sheffield Forum has finally come of age, the majority of posters are in favour of a decision by an organisation to ban something religious based.

Nagel
Religion being in my face is the local CofE church bells that start up on a Sunday morning. I wrote to their leader (vicar) to ask if they would turn down the volume.
