*_ash_*
Why do you need to know ? That's called being nosey in my book No one actually 'needs' to know - if the public are in any danger the police will inform them. People would 'like' to know but not necessarily 'need' to know. If the police believed that anyone in the area was at any risk they would have been informed. You brought the word 'need' into it. The OP didn't say they needed to know. martynh99
Does anyone know what on earth was going on at 3:15am this morning in Grenoside. The police were out in force on cross house close/ vicarage close. We were woken by the police helicopter and sirens going then we heared a large bang and the police were looking/ chasing someone in our neighbours garden. I've never seen so many police! Think i'd want to know why there was this level of activity in adjoining property / locality Why do you need to know ? Not a need, but would like to know if something untoward is taking place so close to my home - I may be at risk ! (FYI - i'm not in Greno or anywhere near) That's called being nosey in my book No one actually 'needs' to know - if the public are in any danger the police will inform them. Really - you believe that the police will inform them - clearly you are not familiar with South Yorkshires finest are you ! Takes one to know one chap Likely as not SYP will be focused on the young lady found deceased in Porter Brook this morning Sympathies to the family and friends of this lady and strength to SYP in their work. There has been quite a lt of thieving going off from up here though recently so maybe something to do with that? We had all of our garden furniture stolen. kidley
The police helicopter isn't sent up unless there is a very just cause - especially at night. Rest assured - it will be something deemed to be very serious at the time. There really aren't many police on duty during the night so maybe some of the officers were from a special unit ? Have a look on SYP facebook or Twitter. My Bold you should get clued up on these things instead of guessing. it DOES NOT have to be a serious incident (by any stretch)to get the helicopter out. Yes, precisely. It can be used for missing person, using their heat-camera
Eric Arthur
That's called being nosey in my book No one actually 'needs' to know - if the public are in any danger the police will inform them. Not knowing when you can know is being ignorant in my book. How do you know if you need to know until you actually know?
kidley
if i can give an instance of the helicopter being called out, it was called out for an immigrant taking cloths left out in a charity bag for the charity to collect, The said copter was out for 30 minutes looking for him. Thats what my post was based on.
