Edd
I used to have all those kinds of puzzle things. I remember the clock, and I used to dismantle the rings-thing and put my own pictures in (no....not pornographic ones ). I never mastered the cube as a lad.....but I can do it now thanks to some extensive surfing for solutions. Takes about 2 minutes...or 3. Its this kind of dedication and level of skill that has allowed me to make it this far through my life without any appreciable achievement or contribution to society. Phanerothyme
calling cubemeisters of yesteryear (i did it once, but it took me a week from fully scrambled) have a look at this: http://www.superliminal.com/cube/cube.htm 4 dimensional hypercube after Erno Rubik. It's an application download, not a web app, but I have tested it and it is a clean, well behaved program indeed. It is also infuriating - I cant get it back from a 3 level scramble. Moonolt
I once solved it by complete fluke. I mean it, complete fluke. Somehow the correct colours just fell into place, I can't explain it. I've never completed it since, I'm hopeless at it. I've chosen the seven-sided option.
mattfjohnson
I got a cube for crimbo after seeing someone nearly complete one in the pub I used to work in (Red Deer on Pitt street). I thouhgt it was amazing as I'd always tried and never got anywhere. At first I struggled to get one face complete but after a bit of research on the net I can now do it every time. It takes me about 3 mins but I thinks thats pretty good considering most people cant even get started. I've seen some videos of guys doing it in less than 20 secs, they are so hardcore!!! I think you have to remeber something like 56 sets of moves (consisting of about 10 moves per set) by heart and only look at the cube twice while solving it to manage that. These people must have no life ) Check this out if you're interested http://www.speedcubing.com/
robh
Try this: a robot built from Lego that unscrambles the cube for you with some help from VB5 on a PC... http://jpbrown.i8.com/cubesolver.html
