Bush Jr was a nightmare in front of the cameras but he had a very good understanding of politics. He was his dads campaign manager for his first Presidential election, and was credited for bringing the different influential factions together to support Bush Sr. Tellingly Bush Jr didn't have the same unfenced in his dads selection campaign, and what is very unusual for an incumbent President he lost the election.
