Car damaged on Neepsend lane today

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Today I parked my car on harvest lane which is a little road off Burton road and neeps end lane.

I parked my car outside the victoria works which specialises in performing arts.

Upon my return I noticed that my car, a silver Ford focus, had been hit by a vehicle which didn't leave any details about the collision.

I am appealing to see if anybody witnessed this as it has caused serious damage to my car about I 've the drivers wheel arch h and has broken my drivers side headlight which suggests that it was either done with such force or caused by a large vehicle, potentially a lorry.

I have contacted victoria works and Stephenson and Blake who have properties on that road.

I have pictures of the scene if needed for clarification.

I have reported this to the police and my insurance.

If anybody can help I would I would be extremely gratefully as this may lead in to me paying for repairs caused through no fault off my own and will effect my children's Christmas funds which has really miffed me off.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks

To add my car has blue and traces of yellow paint on my silver paint work so this provides some hope of the colour of the car/ lorry

Thanks

I feel your pain, I visited B&Q the other day, only to purchase one tin of paint so was not inside for many minutes. On my return to my 15 plate car, some kind person had reversed into the side of it, and not left any note to say sorry, or here is my phone number. Don't you just love these kind of people. It's a certainty as they drove away they would be laughing at getting away with the damage they had done. Like yourself I was very miffed off, but that's life, some folk are honest, others are not.

I learned a valuable lesson from this years ago. (it was the day after John Smith died) and I was in London. Someone had smashed the back end in of my Escort. It had a note, I walked to the nearest phone box (already knowing what was going to happen, but tried to be optimistic) and it was a dead line. Obviously people would have seen it, so they probably did the action of writing a note, to stop others from getting a reg plate or summat.

I think society today is far more likely though for people trying to get away from this type of honesty. Some honest person will put a note with a correct number, and they'll get their next insurance bill and even for a dint, they'll be billed for £3000, probably including whiplash too.

I had a similar incident at a B&Q with my private plate car a couple of months ago. I was not happy but thankfully my in car cctv captured the impact.

A man came and found me after putting a dent in my car when parking. I showed him all the other dents and scrapes and thanked him for his honesty. I don't think he could compute my lack of concern. I would be terrified if I had an unmarked car. There should be special cctv parking places in car parks.
