vipster
Is there anyone out there who can teach me to service my car please? Cheers
Quik
Sharp intakes of breath and lots of headshaking are key if my mechanic is anything to go by. And buy a Haynes manual.
smithy266
Have a look in the car's handbook, and see exactly what needs doing for a service. Do you have a garage in which to work, and do you have access to the various tools you might need? Is it an older car, or a modern one?
vipster
Thanks I was wondering if I could be an apprentice for couple of hours. I just need to know how to jack the car, hold a wrench, drain the oil, change filters? I am not planning on being an expert, but will really appreciate anyone can guide me to do at least this. BTW I don't even know how to fit a shelf ---------- Post added 04-12-2015 at 21:59 ---------- Have a look in the car's handbook, and see exactly what needs doing for a service. RootsBooster
You can easily learn how to change the filters and oil yourself but the visual and physical checks are something that even some 'mechanics' never master.

brinman
What exactly do you need to know just a lubrication service or a full service.
GREEN UN
serrvicing a complicated machine like a automobile requires skill and is needed in making the car SAFE on the roads. nobody should attempt simple remedys via daft social media sites. a car is a weapon in the wrong hands, and a duff idiot messing around with serious steering mechanisms and brakes should be held accountable when shoddy DIY jobs go wrong.
