A Company's ethics?

Recommended Posts

My niece works for a certain large private healthcare company who recently announced huge changes. They are moving a huge bulk of their admin work to India early next year (not call centres, but adminstration work on accounts). They deny it's for cost-saving primarily, but for 'service' reasons - so either they think their staff are rubbish or it really is about £££?

This means that they're not going to need about 35 out of 50 people who work only admin (not any of the many staff who're phone based), but instead of making redundancies they're being ushered into phone based roles, given a three-choice system which seems to have had little effect anyway.

So, effectively with metaphorical guns to their heads, they are having to do jobs they would never have applied for, or leave.

To top it all, despite the top managers/bosses' insistence of clarity and transparency with this move with their Q&A sessions etc, some team managers are playing favourites and moving some of their fave staff around and asking them to ''keep quiet''?

Ethical and fair? Business not personal? To many it damned well is.
